Jane in Love

What if Jane Austen travelled to the present day... and fell in love?

Jane Austen strikes a Faustian bargain to find love with a mysterious matchmaker and ends up time traveling to the present day, landing on the set of a new film adaptation of Northanger Abbey. When the world-famous writer falls in love with a modern-day man, all her books begin disappearing from the shelves, forcing her to decide between staying in the 21st century – where she’s found love, but has lost the ability to write, or returning to her own time – where she’ll write her books and become “Jane Austen”.

Jane in Love explores the choices women have often made between their careers and love...

Givney first fell in love with Jane Austen when she read Emma at age 15. She grew intrigued when she discovered that Jane Austen never married or had any children despite writing six novels about love. She wondered, does an artist - namely a female one - need to be unhappy and / or single, to create art? And if Jane Austen had to choose between the heart and the pen, what would she choose? That's how Jane in Love was born.
